8 Sides of Tennyson E. Stead

As a screenwriter, I'm seeing my first sale, XII, screened at the Cannes Film Market and featured in Fangoria Magazine. As a director, I'm seeing my first short through post-production, and my first feature through development. Financing is coming through equity I've built up in other films, and my distribution comes through an independent theatrical output deal. Check out my production website, at 8 Sided Films.

While my current film investments mature, my focus is on screenwriting and on independent film finance. I am currently on the finance team for the upcoming computer animated musical Noah's Ark, written by Philip LaZebnik and produced by Unified Pictures.

>I just ...saw...you're a filmmaker with spiritual interests...

Yes. There is a Spiritual backbone or direct Metaphysical link to many of my stories. Some are even what I call Metaphysical Science Fiction.

>All my stories...I'm hanging onto for production,...are the ones that demand a bit more faith.

Pretty much the same for me, except that some that I want to hold onto just have a storyline/concept that I don't want 'redirected' into just another genre movie.

>Some of those read as blunt-force genre, but ...the environmental or human allegory is probably not too subtle.

Well... (blunt -force genre? interesting wordage.)

I use the genre expectations to hook the aud in, but have the message just underneath the story/or directly part of the story (one is called "Synchronicity Sings"--one of my seven film series "The Secret History of the World." I guess that would count as 'blunt-force' wouldn't it?).

Hello Tennyson, I've just found you through Nancy's page. It was the Finland thing that caught my eye! At the moment I split my time between composing and Live gigs. I spent three weeks gigging in Finland last years and I am doing 6 weeks there this year. I find the country and its people enchanting.

You have a very impressive CV. I have put in a friends request with you. I hope you have free time to check my compositions.

regards from Alex

I wouldn't say knee deep in Finns...maybe Swedes since my husband works for a Swedish company. Alex is actually from England -- I was surprised, in a way, to hear he'd been to Finland. He's the composer I mentioned in my MySpace message(s).

I'm a big believer in Karma -- what goes around, comes around. Gotta spread the love and help others when you can -- never know when it'll be your turn.
